Giving HOPE: Help a student graduate.

If you are just tuning in start here:

One in every five students are likely to drop out of high school.
How can we help other nations when our future is failing here?

A student’s family income, socioeconomic status, and parental level of schooling are correlated with early school withdrawal. Limited English ability, membership to a family which receives welfare, neglect, having caregivers with drug addictions, other family members dropping out of school, needing to support family, and personal safety issues may also be correlated with the act of leaving school without a diploma. {src}

An "alternative education" school is designed to help 'at-risk' youth not only graduate high school, but prepare them for a better future.

Amanda, at Amanda Lynne Designs, is giving YOU the opportunity to change a students life.

"I want to give back. I want to give hope to kids that are high risk. And what better way to give back than my hometown. This group of people are amazing. They give their time and effort to these kids that most of society would not give the time of day."

When you purchase a 'HOPE' necklace a portion of the profits help a student graduate high school.

What is T.R.O.Y. you ask?

TROY is an alternative education learning center. {just like my high school}

Staff provides an atmosphere that is conducive to learning for each student. Participants report Monday-Friday 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.  The after-school program provides a safe and structured atmosphere.  The staff provides social skills education, tutoring, basic skills education, mentoring, fine arts, substance abuse education, physical training, and wellness activities.  The participants report Monday-Thursday 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. and are required to pay a $350.00 user fee. The parents are required to attend a weekly session with staff. The parent group teaches skills specific to parenting at-risk teenagers. {src}

Children are our future. If we continue to let our future fail, who will help the next generation? Who will give shoes to the children in Africa? Who will feed the children in Ethiopia? Who will educate our future generations?

"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it."
 Proverbs 22:6
