INSPIRE Series: Live Your Life With Purpose (by Faith Konrath)

Very excited to introduce you all to a dear friend of mine, Faith! She blogs over at The Life Of Faith about Christ, marriage, and motherhood.

Just a few years ago, I would have never used the words inspiring to describe myself.
I was raised in a cult-like organization where women were used, abused and extremely undervalued. The Bible was twisted and used as a front for an evil man's agenda. It was a religion of control and my family was a victim. I lived in a bubble, believing everything I was told as truth.
When my family was exposed to the truth, my bubble popped and I was left feeling hurt, self-conscious and very vulnerable. I had no idea who I really was because I had always been told who I should be.
I couldn't even make a decision about what I wanted to order for myself at a restaurant. It was that bad.

I felt lost for several years. I wanted to throw God out. I had been abused in His name and because of that, I had a hard time trusting in Him. Even when I let go, He never did.
I should have had a teen pregnancy. I should be bitter. I should be a drug and alcohol addict. I should be an atheist. I should be on medication for psychological issues.
But I'm not.
I am happy. I have a family. I am loved. I am forgiven. I'm free. I am blessed. I am passionate.
 I am inspiring.
Because of God.
A God who is full of love. mercy and grace and has the power to take the damaged broken pieces of a life and make something beautiful. And because of that I believe in living passionately, with purpose.
I can see now how God allowed my difficult circumstances as a child to shape me into the woman I am today. Because of what I endured in my past, I have a passion for wives, mothers, and families. Contrary to how I grew up in a mentality of worthlessness, I want others to see how being a wife, mom, woman is oh so significant.
It's why I write! I love to share my story and inspire others to be passionate about being a daughter, a wife, a mother, a friend, and most importantly a child of God.
To be inspiring requires passion. I'm passionate about the life God has blessed me with. It's not just a meaningless life, but a life with purpose for the glory of God. I hope you are inspired to realize the meaning your life has. Be passionate. Be inspiring. Live your life with purpose.

  1. Thank you for sharing your story faith! I'm curious were you a jehovah witness? I've heard stories similar to yours from people who were brought up in the jehovah witness faith and have left and become christians.

  2. Thank you Amber! No we were in a cult called ATIA. It was almost an Amish type lifestyle complete with the long dresses to boot! It was led by a man named Bill Gothard who has actually been in the news a lot lately for sexual harassing many of the girls in his organization. I'm so thankful for the Lord bringing us out of that when he did!

Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his.
